Joboji lacquer is a valuable product that Japan can be proud of. It takes 15 years for the lacquer tree to be cultivated before the sap can be collected. Once the tree is cut and harvested, it must be cut down that same year.

Currently, there are not many ways to utilize cut-down trees. I thought that there was still value in using the cut-down lacquer logs, so I studied them and started making works. If you leave the lacquer logs outside for about two years, the sap will harden and you will not get a rash even if you touch them, just like with lacquerware.

The surface is attractive with beautiful scratches and a brave look, and the trunk has a vibrant yellow gradation.

Breathing new life into lacquered wood!!

We use Japan's best lacquer logs to make miscellaneous goods. One of these is lacquer dyeing. The natural yellow color of the trunk is vividly colored with tie-dye patterns.

The dyed colors vary depending on the type of fabric, the season, the environment, and the characteristics of the logs. Furthermore, each tie-dye pattern is made by hand with great care, making each one unique. The dyed fabric is then sewn with careful attention to detail, stitch by stitch.

We feel that the resulting products can be used in a variety of situations while subtly asserting a Japanese style.

As mentioned above, the raw wood has a gradation from yellow to brown and brown to black, and when the powder of each color is applied separately and patterns are applied, a chic and cute product like tortoiseshell is completed.
